A free and exhaustive Pokémon TCG catalog API — sets and cards, no API key required.
No cost, no mandatory sign-up. An optional free API key lifts the 100 requests/day limit if you need it.
196 sets and nearly 21,000 cards, with rarity, types, indicative prices and artwork.
Plain REST/JSON, predictable endpoints, standard pagination and filters.
Search for a card by name: this calls GET /api/cards directly.
Type an API path and press Enter — e.g. /api/cards/base1-4, /api/sets?series=Base.
↑ / ↓ to navigate command history.
No authentication needed: a plain HTTP call is enough.
curl "https://api.cardex.example/api/cards?name=Pikachu"
curl "https://api.cardex.example/api/sets/base1/cards"
Full interactive documentation is available at /swagger.
Anonymous requests are capped at 100/day per IP to prevent abuse. Register your email to get a free API key by mail and remove that limit.
Get my free API key| Endpoint | Description |
|---|---|
GET /api/sets | List sets (filter by series, search by name, pagination) |
GET /api/sets/{id} | Set detail |
GET /api/sets/{id}/cards | Cards in a set |
GET /api/cards | List cards (filters by name, set, rarity, type, pagination) |
GET /api/cards/{id} | Card detail, including game data (attacks, abilities, per-variant pricing...) once the card has been enriched |
Some cards haven't been enriched yet (see enrichedAt in the response) — catalog enrichment is ongoing, block by block.
Calls filtering by set (e.g. GET /api/sets/{id}/cards) use the set's technical identifier, not its display name.

This catalog is also the database behind Cardex, the desktop and mobile app for managing a Pokémon card collection that this project comes from.
